Barrier Codes

Each city and county has its own barrier codes.

All pools are required to be protected by a fence or other barriers.

If your home forms part of that barrier, any doors with access to the pool must be protected.

Some cities require self-closing devices for doors. Others may allow alarms.

Our installers will review your pool installation and let you know what your options are.
Due to the danger of drowning, the State of Arizona enacted a swimming pool barrier law providing minimum safety standards to prevent child drownings.

All pools must be within a fenced area, such as a backyard fence. This protects neighborhood children from getting into the pool.
Individual cities and counties can enact their own building codes as long as they meet or exceed the state statute.
To help prevent drownings of the home occupants, a secondary pool barrier is required.

Fences or barrier devices?- The best protection is adult supervision. Automatic latching door closers are designed to keep the children away from the pool and inside with the adults. A pool fence can provide a false sense of security, making you think it is safe to leave children unattended in the back yard. Even if you wouldn't think this way, many times baby sitters or grandparents do and that's when accidents can happen.
